About Marga

I'm Marga Hogenhuis, a Dutch-Indonesian surface pattern designer based in the Netherlands. I create hand-drawn botanical and heritage-inspired collections that carry depth, story, and a distinct cultural signature, rooted in the Arts & Crafts tradition, shaped by Indonesian heritage, and made for the modern market.

My design practice began as a creative counterpart to my work as a therapist, a space for colour, detail, and quiet obsession with the natural world. What started as a personal passion has grown into a body of work spanning twelve collections, from William Morris-inspired florals to tropical botanicals, modern Delft Blue, and cottagecore.

Every pattern I create is hand-drawn. No shortcuts, no AI generation, just me and my (Apple) pencil, paint, and a deep love for the craft.

Licensing

My collections are available for licensing across wallpaper, fabric, homewares, stationery, and more. I work with brands, publishers, and product makers who value originality and story in their designs. Custom collections and bespoke commissions are also available on request.
